Last week construction along Germann began! The utilities and curbs are being moved to prepare the way for our new entrance on Germann. The construction of the Bridge @ CCC building will begin in the next few weeks pending all of the necessary approvals.
This is an exciting time as we are beginning construction on our new student outreach center. This building will allow us to have a myriad of activities and be a place for students and families to come. As we have thought about what will be offered at this new Student Center, here are just a few of the many possibilities-
Besides being open and available to students to hang out and play basketball, video games, ride skateboards, play pool, talk, etc. after school.
We are looking at offering programs like kid’s basketball and indoor soccer, Mother/kid days to play in the gym, family night activities, adult sports leagues, sports camps, concerts and a whole host of other programs. This facility will allow us to be a positive presence in the community. This in turn will hopefully allow us to build relationships and share the message of God’s saving love with people.
As we are beginning to plan for this, we are would like to hear your ideas on how we can make this a successful outreach into the community. We currently have a task force of people from our congregation that have met and brainstormed some of the possibilities. But we would like to hear your ideas also. It is an exciting undertaking to start a facility like this from the ground up and be able to dream of the impact we can have.
If you would be interested in continual updates about the progress of the new student center, please email: cherylhoffman@chandlercc.org. We will keep you up to date with what is going on and where we are at in the process.
Thank you for your support in making this happen! Together we will make a difference in the lives of students and their families.
Pastor Jeff Hinson
But especially during these last 2 weeks beginning with a marvelous Easter weekend!
First, 73 people stepped out for the Lord Jesus Christ by being baptized (immersed) picturing the death, burial and resurrection of Christ on Baptism Weekend! In fact, last Sunday after our 11:15AM service, we had so many baptisms that I didn’t leave the church campus until 1:30PM!
There is still room for you to join these other Brothers & Sisters in being obedient to Christ in Christian baptism. If you believe in Christ as the Son of God and Savior and want Him to be your Savior and the boss of your life…why not join us in this special and privileged decision.
Second, our Elders determined this week that we are “full speed ahead” on our Ripple Effect construction plans which include:
- Phase I of our “Bridge” facility- the multipurpose facility including a gym/auditorium, café, gameroom, climbing wall and skate park!
- A new “video” sign on Alma School Road!
- A new entry and driveway to and from Germann Road!
This building is a “tool” by which we want to “Bridge” from CCC into our community! We will use it for sports programming, concerts, student programming and every outreach event we can think of – with the end goal of bringing more people into an “ever-deepening relationship with Christ!”
By the way…a special thanks to some of you who have either completed or are continuing your financial commitment to the Ripple Effect fund drive. If you haven’t started giving toward your commitment, would you please consider “stepping up to the plate” and doing your best to help us “hit a homerun” with this program? It’s the “bottom of the 9th” and we need you to help us “drive home the winning run!”
This week we continue with the series YChurch! You don’t want to miss these messages!
I can’t wait to see how God is going to use these two exciting events – 73 new followers of Christ and the step of faith in building a “Bridge” to our community for Christ!
Hang on…God is good – all the time! All the time – God is good!
Blessings and Peace,
Pastor Roger
